No one would've guessed that two oddballs from New Zealand would make it big on
American TV, but Flight of The Conchords were amongst the first comedians to
prove you dont need to be Ashton Kutcher or Chris Rock to make it in the comedy
world. Ever since Bret
McKenzie dropped word of an Oz tour back in Feb we've been hanging for some
dates to be locked in, and today we finally got that prized presser. Happy
Easter!
The boys will be in the country for an eleven-date tour in July,
taking their signature musical comedy and covering bases from coast to
coast. It's been two years since McKenzie and Jermain Clement wrapped up their
HBO series, which was based on the group's attempt at making it big in New York
- in the meantime, the comedy-folk duo had parted ways for a while, with Bret
most recently earning an Oscar nomination for his work on The Muppets
movie soundtrack.
But the group hasn't disbanded of course, and this
coming trip to Australia will be the Flight of The Conchords' first headline
visit down under.
Ticket sales start from 9am Tuesday 17
April.
